The Candidate
Keith Price is a Republican candidate for the office of McMinn County Assessor of Property. He is a life long resident of McMinn County. After graduating from McMinn County High School in 1975 he studied business and pre-engineering at Cleveland State Community College. He then completed two state and federal apprenticeship programs. Keith has more than thirty years experience as a business owner and a former State Licensed Building Contractor. His background has allowed him the opportunity to work with the public, administer payrolls and acquire sound business principles. Keith is presently employed at AbitibiBowater. He has computer training in several different business software programs with a major emphasis on record keeping.
His family members include his wife of thirty-three years, formerly Joyce Williams of Englewood (a downtown business owner) and niece Casey (attending John A. Gupton College in Nashville).
Keith has been an active member of First Baptist Church of Athens for thirty seven years. He has chaired committees, helped organized several mission projects and was project coordinator for a First Baptist sponsored Habitat For Humanity house.
The Assessor of Property’s general duties are state mandated. By maintaining the current office staff and applying the same sound conservative business principles of the present assessor he plans to move forward searching for more ways to better serve the citizens of McMinn County. If elected, Keith will provide professional, honest and respectful service in addition to being available for the personal assistance that should be given by all public servants. Keith's ability to be approachable will allow citizens to be comfortable resolving issues or conflicts.
